Ashtanga Yoga Intensive /Teacher Education
A 100-hour yoga teacher education program,
taught by David
Garrigues at the Bandha Room, Olympia,
WA. The May session combines first and second
segments participants can complete in order to
register with the Yoga Alliance at the 200hr
Instructor level.
David's teaching intensives are for practicing
teachers, those who want to teach and for those
who simply want to journey more deeply into
their personal practice. This training will
immerse you in the art, philosophy, methodology,
and the medicinal qualities of Yoga. Each
participant will develop skills to help people
of all levels achieve a soulful, nourishing Yoga
practice. The course will provide you with the
opportunity to go more thoroughly into your
personal practice, and will carry you along your
healing path towards authentic, joyous
awakening.
Through this program you will look at the study
of Yoga through the lens of traditional Ashtanga
Vinyasa. The program is very experiential in
nature, where developing your personal practice
is tantamount to learning to share yoga with
others *.

study of alignment as a way of finding our
unique center
principles of adjusting
introduction to pranayama
daily chanting and study of Patanjali's Yoga
Sutras
Introduction to Samkya and Classical Yoga
Philosophy
energetic and subtle anatomy
Sanskrit foundation
Ashtanga mantras
Introduction to Bhakti Yoga through japa
mantra and kirtan
*official authorization to teach Ashtanga Yoga
can only be obtained through extensive
study in Mysore, India.

You are also

Hafez (Hafiz), or another poet who is relevant
to your yoga practice.
